Peregrine

Hamid is born into a poor, nomadic desert tribe, where he is happy until the age of ten. Then a traumatic experience disillusions him. Unexpectedly presented with an opportunity to leave the desert, he bids farewell to the nomadic life, to live with a sheikh and his family, whose home becomes his own.

On reaching maturity, he is sent for, in order to be married. His chosen wife, however, dies soon afterward, and he returns to his adopted family, only to find it much changed. A sequence of unpleasant events forces him to leave again. But after wandering alone and forsaken for a time, he is reunited with them, and finally becomes a true member of the family.
