Omul-de-artificii

Effi is a peculiar girl. She lives with her grandmother, mother and brother in a small town in the north of Romania. Her father is a rather sporadic but desired presence. He comes and goes and appears at the most unusual moments. One morning he shows up unexpectedly and involves Effi in a new project: building a man made of fireworks. But fireworks, although a delight to the eyes, fade away irrevocably.

Effi is a young woman. She has left her Mother-Country and lives in a Surrogate-Country. She is a young writer trying to make peace with the past.

Omul-de-artificii (literally translated "The Firework Man") is Cristina Winter's first book, written in Romanian.
