Captain Jamison had accomplished all he could on Planet Arcola. After hearing intercepted radio waves from Earth, he, his robot Tobor, and Tarzack, a 400-pound rare thought to be extinct, Dragoon, set out on an exploration of a lifetime, on a stolen space ship.

On Earth, Jamison falls in love with the wife of a human he tried to save from drowning in Lake Michigan. Tobor performs a mind weld, transferring memories from the human to Jamison. Earth's atmosphere and gravity give him alien powers, something he hadn't anticipated, nor had his enemies. He could crush a human's hand and tear them limb from limb. His powers will be of use when he fights the Mafia, working for the government.
