They really don't notice him much at all. For centuries, he's been just an odd looking old bum to most who meet him. But some know the truth. Like Ellie, who has encountered the Angel three times now, just as disaster was about to horrifically claim lives. Each time, the awkward old man would simply disappear before anyone could find out who he was or where he was going. This time however, God has given him the go ahead to reveal himself openly.
