The declared purpose of judicial incarceration is twofold. Firstly, to protect society from criminals, and secondly, to inculcate inmates with ideas and attitudes which may help them to become, after their release, valuable members of society, able to enrich and contribute to the society against which they had previously offended. It could not have been anticipated that the few months spent in prison by Steve Howard would change the history of the World.
