Trace Memory

A reclusive author meets a young adventurer who's used the author's most notorious book as the inspiration for a desperate attempt to rescue his long-lost sister. The author knows the adventurer's reading all sorts of things into the book he never intended, in order to justify pursuing something that's almost certain to get him killed - but does he have the right to talk the young man down from the ledge?
