The mod British fashion model arrived in the United States on March 20, 1967. Weighing just 92 pounds her slight figure reminded observers of a young boy. When a retinue of photographers surrounded the unique 17-year-old she was soon surrounded by a throng of teenage girl admirers. Twiggy came to America to market a line of clothes that she modeled, nearly a 50 piece collection. The Cockney London product still lived at home with her parents in north London. In the U.S. she was escorted by Justin de Ville, the former Nigel Davies, her manager/boyfriend.
