Introduced in Emoter, Annjuhleesuh and Reebehkuh can now have their story told more completely. After what seems like a life time of hopelessness and despair, the young ladies are surprised at meeting people who sincerely care about them and want to support and encourage them. While they’re hesitant to trust, the caring support is too real to deny and encourages them to hope for a better future.

A peek inside:

“It’s called an emotional recording. A friend and I, along with Henry and a few other people are starting a new company where we collect emotional recordings like that and hope to share them online with people who can benefit from experiencing them. What we do is have a volunteer wear a headband like this,” she takes hers off to show it to Reebehkuh, “which has sensors built into it and they sense and digitally record the brain wave activity of a person.

“With the current technology and keeping it portable, we can only record a very small amount of the brain’s activity and some of the most intense activity is when the brain is experiencing a strong emotion. And for all of the recorded emotions that we have available, only a small percentage are strong enough for an average person to feel it. We hope that enough people will want to experience the recordings and pay for them so that we can pay the volunteers who submit the recordings, keep the company going, and maybe help even more people experience something positive.”

Reebehkuh says, “That was definitely positive and I would gladly pay for it, assuming that I could afford it.”

“Thank you.” Lynn Sue explains, “We want to keep the price as low as possible and decided on one credit per play of a recording which is the least amount some credit cards will accept a charge for. I think the headbands will be somewhere around twenty credits to purchase and will plug into the speaker jack of a person’s computer. We know that some people can’t afford a computer or the online access and we’re talking about trying to work with doctor’s offices to use the recordings as a part of their therapy. We considered the idea of offering the recordings through retail outlets, but were concerned that the liability issues and overhead costs would push the cost of the recordings out of the reach of many people. As we move along and see whether the recordings will help people, we’ll consider other options to enable more people to access and experience the recordings.”

“Assuming the computer and online access are already paid for, one credit to experience that relaxation is a steal. That’s much less than the cost of a beer in a tavern and so much better. You could charge a whole lot more and still have people waiting in line and begging for more.”

“Other people have said something similar. Our initial interest in even forming the company was to help people feel better about themselves, not to take their money away. The more we share samples with people, it seems like the success probability keeps going even higher.” Lynn Sue hesitates then says, “Since you benefited from what we call a ‘comfort’ recording, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that you try a different recording.”

Reebehkuh clearly tenses up, pauses, then asks, “What is it?”

“One of our co-workers called it ‘catharsis’. It starts out with a feeling of loss then transitions to a feeling of comfort similar to the one you tried earlier. My co-worker as well as my dad and my best friend have benefited from it in dealing with the feeling of having lost someone or something either recently or a long time ago. It also helped me to deal with the loss of my mom.”

“I . . . I guess I can try it.”

“Don’t feel like you ought to try it just because I’m suggesting it. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but I think it might help you.”

“Oh. . . . Okay.”

When the recording is done and with tears still streaming down Reebehkuh’s face, she says, “Thank you. . . . Can you . . . play it again?”
