Lus na Tùise / Lavender

The second volume of poetry by Marcas Mac an Tuairneir, Lus na Tùise / Lavender is titled after the ‘lavender generation’ of interwar gay rights activists. The poems portray a multitude of relationships including familial, romantic, sexual, educational, professional, and friendships; the overall sense is of an emotional life laid bare. The bilingual collection features 56 Scottish Gaelic poems with facing English translations by the poet, and a foreword by Dr. Emily McEwan-Fujita.
