Mourner's Lament

At 68 I decided it was time to publish my story, break the silence, raise awareness, educate, and motivate people to face the truth and stop the cycle of abuse.
Once I was ready, I sought help and found it in my city. It was really all there for me. Survivors groups, recovery groups, art therapy, trauma recovery groups, meditation and mindfulness. I was so ready to face the truth.

This manuscript sprang out of my psyche fully formed. It was an exciting time. I would wake up in the middle of the night and write down whole poems. Later there was little that I would want to change.
