Stiff Opposition

Solnia is a charming small village situated in northern Italy between Prato and Pistoia and although not yet commercialized, it attracts visitors because of its famous agricultural products and agro tourism which has been of considerable importance since 1970. The tourists –the prime source of income for every person in the village, visit Solnia to buy products, enjoy entertainment, participate in activities, shop in a local health-food store, eat a meal or make overnight stays. The symptoms of Typhoid fever experienced by many natives, forced the doctor of the village, a moral man with an acute sense for justice, to explore the possible causes of the disease. The analysis by a certified laboratory determines that the soil is contaminated with toxic heavy metals. He is trying to persuade the owner of Solnia Argo Foods Inc. and Romano Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd to take a certain course of action but his efforts were in vain. The key allegation against him is that he intends to close the companies, throw locals into destitution and deprive them of their right to live as equal citizens with others in the community. Despite the fact that the powerful industrialist influenced the villagers to rise up against him, he didn't compromise himself and continued his fight to the bitter end to protect the people from future fatal accidents… 'Out of stiff opposition comes the fairest harmony...'
