Quentin Zerbes, a troubled 12-year-old orphan boy afflicted by bullies and indifferent foster parents, is unexpectedly adopted by a couple anxious to teach him about the magical powers he had no idea that he possessed. However, strange dreams throw a pall of uncertainty over the true nature of those powers.
And then, as he learns the responsible use of the new-found powers in dealing with the bullies in his life, a new and dangerous figure suddenly emerges: Truman Stanic, a former apprentice to Quentin’s adoptive father. The final disastrous showdown between those two hurls Quentin into a fantastical monochrome world, where his very survival depends on the choices he makes; and yet, success there will only return him to the grim orphan’s life.
What of the pleasures awaiting him on Broadway?
