Utterance

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2: 4). Before the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven to sit on the Right Hand of the Father, He commanded the disciples that "they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said ye have heard of me" (Acts 1:4). He of course was speaking of the previously referenced Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. It is thought that this event on the day of Pentecost was the beginning of the Ecclesia (The Church/The Called Out). On that day they were filled with power and spoke in Tongues as the Spirit gave the Utterance. That Utterance spoken through those men that were present flowed directly from the Throne of God even as it came as a "Rushing Mighty Wind" (Acts 2:2). That attribute of the Holy Spirit, the same Power used to create and sustain the universe is still flowing today and it is our charge to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of Utterance (speaking in Tongues) so that the Words (Utterances) of the Most High do not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). It is Revival Time!
