Alecia Alexander faced down the devil and won. Or so she thought.
She and her new lover, the mysterious hitman known as Diaz, just barely escaped the war between rival cartels the Zapistas and the Thirteens. Escaping to her family’s farm in North Texas, she thought the violence and death was behind her.
But the Cartels do not forgive and they never forget. After a lightning raid on her family’s farm, Diaz is left near death and both are captured by Carlos Castelo, the notorious leader of the Thirteens. Taken back to the Thirteen’s fortress compound in Mexico, Alecia is once again thrust into the violence and depravity of the Mexican drug cartels. The Thirteens’ women, taken from all over the world, are forced to compete in a caste system where only the most subservient, pleasing of the women are allowed any privileges. The rest are forced to work in the kitchen and as maids – little better than the salves of old.
As Diaz lays dying, the cartel boss, Castelo, presents Alecia with a devil’s bargain. He will see to Diaz’s medical care and set him free if, and only if, she gives up everything she ever knew before and loves him totally and completely.
To save the man she loves, she must not only give him up, but she must gain the love and trust of the very man who took everything from her in the first place.
