Drowning in Anxiety

DROWNING IN ANXIETY is comprised of five short stories that all have a shared theme, fear. ETHAN AND THE MINOTAUR is a modern day version of THESEUS AND THE MINOTAUR. Ethan has a crush on a girl in his class and the only way he can tell her his feelings is by winning a teddy bear by completing the school’s festival maze. Unfortunately, the school bully is playing the Minotaur in the maze and has different plans for Ethan. CAGED BIRDS is a story of two siblings murdering their stepfather for years of abuse and sexual harassment. The pair struggles to get their emotions together and question their morals. MARIONETTE NULL is about Maria, a normal college student that was held down by men in suits and stabbed viciously in the gut for a game created by a wealthy child and his family. Maria wakes up in a white bed and is forced to listen to the rules of a game that destroyed any chances of her leading a normal life. DELUSIONS tells a story of a young girl named Esther and her cousin Felix. After being picked up from her friend’s house by Felix, Esther witnesses empty liquor bottles hitting against her leg. Finally, in HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Anna and her husband Eric argue about his whereabouts for the past few days. Anna keeps Eric on the ropes and becomes closer to finding the truth.
