Lena and Isabelle didn't know each other until after they moved to the other side of the country. Later they are joined by Irene, Lena's best friend since childhood. they have money in the bank but no families they can go home to. Careful with their money, kind to each other, at times enduring sadness, they study, work, drink a little wine once in a while and deal with the men in their lives.
