This book is part of the King James series, but written from a woman's standpoint. John Springs in his foreword writes that Samantha Cook asked him if she could tell the story of Lawan, the Thai chef that has been sailing with KJ and Marjorie on board the Westchester. John agreed and is introducing Samantha Cook as she takes over from him to tell the story of Lawan, the Thai cook that joined KJ and Marjorie aboard the Westchester. They're sailing from Negril, Jamaica to Roadtown, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Lawan gets melancholy and starts talking about her life, sexual experiences and what led her to this boat, this couple and this journey. Lawan's empoyer, Barry and his wife Okida and their butler Roberto stayed behind in Jamaica. Lawan is struggling with a decision to stay with KJ and Marjorie and become part of the boat crew or return to her "family" in Jamaica.
