From Nazis to Nurses: My Life, So Far

Gerlinde (Lee) Pizzuto grew up in World War II Germany. As a teenager, she and her family escaped in front of the Russian invasion. After finishing high school, she went to England to study nursing. Emigrating to the United States, she continued her studies. She married and joined the Army, rising eventually to full colonel. She also taught nursing at San Quentin Prison.
