King Henrys is a small school in a small village, with average exam results and the same ordinary problems that all schools face on a day to day basis. To the village council this is its biggest problem, they want more than normal; they want a school at the top of the exam tables; they want nothing less than perfection. Today, however, things are going to change because today a special team of inspectors are paying a visit and they will stop at nothing to ensure that the school improves. Even if it kills them .... All of them.
To Mr Amarande, the lead inspector and a creature of pure hate and vengeance, this is nothing new; he has been venting his monstrous version of justice for centuries and was well versed in the art of being judge, jury and executioner. To him the inspection was a simple case of you're good enough or you die.
There is a fly in the ointment to the council and Amarande's plans in the shape of Sam Thorne, a soon to be ex-teacher of the school who has arrived for his final disciplinary meeting with the corrupt senior leadership team. Sam is different to the other teachers: he is hard working, honest and very, very angry. Can he control that anger long enough to save those who have tried to destroy him or will he leave them to their bloody fate?
For the staff and pupils at King Henrys today is going to be a long, painful day and getting to the end of it will be murder.
The Inspectors are in and hell has come with them.
This book contains part one and two of a four part, darkly humorous and at times horrific story about the day in the life of a school under government inspection by Ian Ford, a man who knows from first-hand experience how deadly this can be.
