My Superhero Origin Story

We were brought together to save our world. Given powers of the mind straight out of the comic books and an enemy far more terrible than we had ever dreamed. We learned right from the beginning, this isn’t a TV show or a movie or a book. This is the real world, where the enemy looks just like we do instead of the monsters that are inside them. Perhaps it’s another thing about our generation, we can’t just be traditional superheroes, with masks and capes and horrible villains. We aren’t waiting on them to make the first move. We can’t. We’re going to stop this before it gets to that point.
If we step on a few toes and shatter a few laws in the process, given what’s coming, then that’s what we have to do. There are seven billion people on Earth. Forgive us for agreeing that seven billion lives are more important than laws.
This is being written for us, for our families, so that people can know what’s really happening.
Secrets hurt. Secrets make things worse. Secrets are why we’ve done this. The only secret we’ll keep is who we are. Because we have families who don’t know, and friends who are innocent. If our enemy knew who we were, then our friends and families will pay the price.
We are the Nexxus Five, given great power and great responsibility and this is the blog of a teenage superhero. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
