Based loosely on actual events. A patient named Jeffrey wishes to spend his time in hospital purely observing and finding solace on his own. Carolyn, another young patient, draws him into her dilemmas, her humanity and beauty too attractive to ignore, and Jeffrey finds himself ignoring his own recovery to give her some hope. Teaching her some life truths of his own helps Carolyn warm to Jeffrey, but his darkest truth eventually turns her against him.
