Second Genesis

Gerald is frozen in the 20th century and wakes 2,000 years later to find himself a prisoner, along with hundreds of other people from 20th/21st centuries. Who are the strange and violent creatures who keep him imprisoned and what do they want from him? Gerald and his partner Emma want to escape but the others seem strangely apathetic. Before they can take action, there is a riot by local townspeople and almost everyone is killed. They are free to leave, but the outside world is a far more horrific place than he could ever have imagined. The world has suffered from the worst environmental disaster they have ever known and now they must work with the strange and distant Hagan to try to restore the Earth. As Gerald and Emma struggle to understand the world they now inhabit, they realise that nothing is as it appears. What is the real purpose behind Hagan's actions?
