SPITTING SENSE crosses the thin line of the material and the non-material and brings a sense of psychological wonder and suspense that weaves throughout its three short stories like a dreamlike state—or nightmare.

In the "Man Who Comes Around" a young man, wandering on a dark and desolate highway, is picked up by a strange man. The young man struggles to break free from the confines of the stranger's truck and the events of his past life.

"Killing It Gently" throws Ginnie in reveries of her own devise as she enters a gas station to buy a pregnancy test in the middle of the night, where she battles with the reality of her past, present, and future decisions.

"How to Reel in a Fish" follows the inner thoughts of a man yearning for his late father's approval. Our protagonist tediously fights, even murders, to preserve his rightful place and family name from those close to him that wish to take it away.
