Half a Dozen

The Sunset Investigations agency is on a roll of perplexing cases. At times Detectives Markus Ryan and Frank Curtis are stumped, but that goes with the territory. Bootleggers have been known to deal in all kinds of products, but when babies are that product, the crime needs to be solved yesterday. Members of a quilting club aren't making life any easier; they're eager to catch whoever is killing off their respective husbands.

When Doris Krantz goes missing, again, there is a new twist. Her husband boasts of having killed her, only there's no proof – her body is nowhere to be found. Equally perplexing are many bodies, living ones belonging to illegal aliens that were stashed in a mini storage facility.
