Matthew Hollister:
He has one ironclad rule above all others.
It stems from growing up in Banner’s Point, Idaho.
Fate, well-meaning, adults, as well as his own strong drive to be number one, had pitted Mathew against Blake Banner. Teachers, wanting to be fair, had always placed the naturally gifted athletes on opposing teams. From early childhood, they were the chosen captains of their teams. One ruled on the basketball court and baseball diamond, the other on the football field.
The kids their age, picked sides. All hoped to align themselves with the top dog of their adolescent world.
In high school, their rivalry reached a low point when a teenage girl wanted to score with the two hottest seniors.
It was then that Matthew had made his absolute and irrevocable rule. Any woman who’d been with Blake Banner was forever off-limits to him.
Fast forward past a nasty political campaign when Matthew and Blake ran against each other for Senator.
Past the time when Matthew’s beloved wife, Cathy had died from cancer.
Past the time of Blake Banner’s death.
Wanting to secure the safest childhood possible for his young son, Matthew Hollister returns to Banner’s Point, Idaho.
Blake Banner’s widow, Grace is the principal at Banner’s Point Elementary School. She has a son the same age as Matthew’s son, attending the same school.
Fasten your seatbelts, with the two boy’s following in their father’s footsteps, a new rivalry has erupted.
Grace and Matthew decide to work together to bring an end to the budding feud.
It doesn’t take long for Brian and Grace’s son, Jason, to realize that each has something the other wants. As unlikely a pair of match-makers has never before existed.
But, Matthew Hollister is locked into a life script that won’t allow him to break his most basic rule—no matter how darned appealing the principal of Banner’s Point Elementary school might be--what was once Blake’s will never be his.
End of story, right?
