Deep Like the Earth

Makiyah Franklin’s next door neighbor has always been pretty weird, but when Makiyah looks over the fence one day and sees big piles of dirt and a trash can full of jewels, she just has to find out what’s going on. When she learns that her neighbor is building a backyard cathedral out of dirt and straw, she decides to help out, and in helping, she learns about life, love, and the strength to go on.
