Across from him, a man slowly poured a cup of house-brand coffee down his throat, and had left the meeting briefly and without warning. He had a cigarette on the pavement, and then strolled back to their table. "I don't know how some people do it. Really. I timed it. It was nine minutes flat?" He thought as he stared over the table as the man opposite him explained himself. "Sorry. I needed a minute for each" The man had dragged the smell of the cigarette inside with him. "Imagine what kind of psycho's hang out in coffee shops and book shops. From what I've seen in all my years, you're safer in bar at 11 o'clock on a Saturday night, buying the leader of a notorious gang of bike thieves a beer" He thought later after the meeting. "THEY plan short-term, with minimal damage. Like a small bumper bashing that is inconvenient at the time, but becomes the insurance company's problem. Or at worst, the odd stabbing in the bathroom with a switch-blade, or accidental shot from a 38-special through the bonnet of your ride...
