The Fires of Hera

Hera became aware of her condition when she was five years old. She couldn’t feel anything. When asked by her twin brother Horace if a paper cut hurt she didn’t know what he meant. When she was sixteen a teenaged break up found her gazing on the beautiful dancing flame from a lighter. That was when she ascribed meaning to the lack of sensation. At every turn in her life she would find fire beautiful.

The Fires of Hera is a suspense and tragedy short story. Follow Hera through her life as she comes to understand her condition and lives with it.
