Felt to be oppressed by her family's traditional values, Maria deliberately goes against what is expected of her and ultimately rejects her Filipino culture. Leaving a family reunion in the Philippines early, strange noises begin to plague her home. Maria ignores these seemingly meaningless occurrences and struggles to solve the new obstacles arising in her life. 'Aswang ' is the modern telling of a mythical Filipino beast.
