There are only two things of consequence in the realm of the vampire: the interwoven actions of the pursuit of prey and the quest for carnal gratification.

As happens to all ancient vampires, Nikolas has become intensely bored with the predictability of his centuries-long existence, in spite of living in the vibrant city of London. He wants to change the way vampires interact with their human prey and to eradicate the constant threats to a vampire's survival. He intends to subjugate all of humankind by creating a new vampire world order, where he will be the ultimate alpha male.

This is a story of humanity's folly in the face of vampire lust and intrigue.
