The Measure of Justice

Ulysses Rule is a hangman executing men who committed atrocities during the war. He arrests the assayer of a mining company that owns the town of Bannon and everyone in it. A federal judge is summoned to verify Rule's authority and the legitimacy of his charges. But before the judge arrives the assayer turns up dead, and everyone in town aims to see Rule hang for murder--with his own rope.
