New Beginnings

Some wars never end. The battle of the mind is the most strenuous and challenging battle a person can fight. New Beginnings by Brianna Holbrook is a collection of three flash fictions that explore these internal battles.
"Gypsy" follows Bart, an ex military CO who struggles to break free for the claws of war. His faithful dog, Gypsy makes rounds with Bart each night, preparing for enemies that couldn't be seen. Rich with sarcasm and presidential power, the factious flash fiction, "Campbell Vs. Kennedy" explores the rumor that President JFK had connections with a certain mafia leader. "The Ride" is the last short story in the collection. Told in Amy's point of view, and it showcases the bond that can develop after trauma. Mitch and Amy are hopping from town to town, looking for a place to call home, but also trying to out run the demons in Mitch's mind.
