"My Life and Welcome to It" was originally for my family and friends to help them to understand how I got to be as crazy as I am. But several of them thought the rest of the world could get a laugh, or ten, from it so here it is on Amazon! Hope you like it!

Section 1- Camping Made Easy is about my escapades as a camp counselor in the 60's that you might identify with or, at least, will make you laugh! Here's a sample: Broadcreek Scout Camp was the epitome of scouting culture in the '50's and '60's. Pre- "Girls in Boy Scouts" and "Drive me to the campsite, Mom," the one or two week stay at Broadcreek was the high point of every scout's year. To be hired as counselor at the camp for the entire summer was an almost unattainable dream. Luckily, I had become one of the "chosen few"!
The summer of 1960 was my second year there as a counselor and it was also the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Being one of the top Boy Scout camps in the country and in close proximity to BSA Headquarters in Washington, DC, Broadcreek was selected for the biggest anniversary bash of the summer and coincidently it was the same summer that the War Canoe Submarine was invented!"
Section 2 – Believe It or Not: You might think that since I was an engineer for most of my life, I would believe only in that which can be explained by math and the sciences. What I have found over the years has led me to quite the contrary conclusion. Science in general, and more specifically physics, can't explain many things both here on Earth or in the rest of the Universe. In fact, as more time passes (if it truly does "pass") the less we seem to know. I am convinced that there are no such things as coincidences, that life is not a "convenient accident," that there is an existence for us beyond this life! Many of my personal experiences have led me to these conclusions, and although I am a great believer in math and the sciences, I believe that many things that we see and experience during our time here cannot always be explained by any of them. The chapters that follow are descriptions of events that I have experienced that are hard to explain using scientific method, math and logic. ( Def: Supernatural (adjective); not of the natural
world, relating to or attributed to phenomena that cannot be explained by natural laws.)
Section 3 – Business Travel for Fun and Profit: Traveling for business more frequently
than I would have liked, sometimes for weeks or months at a time, eventually made me hate business travel! Thank God there were events which broke the monotony and boredom! Ask anyone who travels for business what their worst scenario for air travel is, and they will tell you it's multiple short hops on commuter aircraft. Add connecting between two such flights out of an airport in "tornado alley" when it is surrounded by thunderstorms and the terminal P/A system announcing that three tornados have touched down near the airport, and you will have the scene set for my next story, "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye!"
Section 4 - Never Give up (Especially When You're Alone in the Plane): A famous pilot once said that being a pilot is hours and hours of boredom separated by a few minutes of shear panic. Although my career in aviation (as an airborne taxi driver) was short lived, I understood what he meant. However, if there was no fun connected with it, no one would be a pilot! Some of my flying history is in this section as well as a few experiences that should give you a smile.
