"The Philosopher Kings" is book six of the series and it introduces the reader to Dale's mentor, Dr. Prescott, a philosopher and intellectual.
Dale, now attending Galilee Nazarene College, continues his intellectual development while contending with the college's religious requirements . Most importantly, he is now dating Amanda Meeks and things seem to be going well. However, Dale's intellectual curiosity and natural contrariness threaten to undermine his romance and his standing on campus.
Also, in book six, two of Dale's "nemesi" appear: Sylvester Fish and Aaron Short. It soon becomes apparent that those two and Dale are headed for a clash of ideas -- and possibly more.
