Through a Glass, Darkly

"Through a Glass Darkly" is the seventh and last book in "The Adventures of Audie Dale Smith" series. This novel starts off with Dale doing fine as he enters his senior year in college. He is editor of the student newspaper, honor student, and still dating the girl of his dreams. However, Dale intellectual independence and natural contrariness begin to create problems.

As the epic story of Audie Dale Smith draws to a close, the religious campus is convulsed by controversy regarding the Rapture. Dale satirizes the pseudo-event in the campus newspaper and he gets into serious trouble with the administration and his friends, including his love, Amanda. In the end, he has to make a fateful decision of whether he should conform or stay true to his ideals.
