Trying to learn to play golf can be thought of as a mild form of insanity. What drives most of us crazy is the fact that to do it correctly, two very different, unrelated, and more or less opposing motions must be performed at the same time...kind of like patting your head while rubbing your tummy.
The motion can be described simply...you're trying to turn your hips and shoulders around your spine under a steady head...while transferring your weight from your back foot to your front foot during the downswing. Simple, right?
Those of us who have attempted it know better...
Many golf books have been written for many years, but few of them have been written for the casual/recreational golfer. Almost none of them have tried to make the golf swing simpler of golf a simpler game. My purpose here was to break it all down into small enough pieces to digest easily.
This is not a book of "Golf Tips", it is a method developed over 30 years of playing this crazy game. Sometimes well, sometimes struggling with it like everyone else. We will all ultimately teach ourselves how to play golf. Because we are all individuals with so many different variables such as height, weight, age, strength, and flexibility, it can be no other way.
The more time and effort you put in, the more you will get out. And that being said, many of us either don't have the time anymore, or the inclination, or the patience...or it's just life getting in the way of our ability to work that hard at it...
And that's OK too, because you can still go out and knock a ball around and have a good time doing it...and maybe this book will be a little helpful to you.
