A Decade of Diapers

Author Lisa D. Weitkamp's story is one that every parent can relate to. As a young woman, she daydreamed about having a family: a loving husband, a beautiful child, and an idyllic life. Soon those hopes became her life--but it did not look how she thought it would.

Overwhelmed with life as a new mother, she felt overcome with disappointment. Was something wrong with her? Why was the life she had once longed for so difficult to actually live? In one moment, with her new baby screaming and herself at the verge of tears from exhaustion, she remembered where her strength came from: she turned to God. She prayed for Him to give her the instincts to handle her days. And He did.

Soon, she was blessed with another baby and had to face a new set of challenges with two precious children under two years old. Lisa and her husband had to figure out how to support their quickly growing family, how to manage their finances with bankruptcy looming ahead, and how to ensure they were protecting their own relationship amidst their busy lives. Their family continued to grow until they found themselves with four little ones.
