Shiv

Shiv is the story of convicted armed robber, Lester Pearl, and Assistant US Attorney Malcolm McMann, two men who have to make a horrifying decision: whether to take human life. Lester just wants to do his time quietly and become eligible for parole, but when he meets Cliff Hickey, a charismatic lifer intent on building a powerful prison gang, Lester's time in prison becomes anything but quiet. McMann, an African American, is facing a career-ending crossroads over his unwillingness to prosecute death penalty cases. When McMann gets sent to investigate a prison murder that involves Hickey's gang, McMann is forced to reconsider his most closely held beliefs.
