In the thirteen years Emily Carlisle lived at Saint Peter's Boarding School, she never paid attention to the rumors about a ghost haunting the north tower of the castle turned school. Not until she began dreaming about the Cromwell family who once owned the castle. Wanting answers about the dreams, Emily volunteered her friend Sheila and cousin Didi to accompany her to the north tower to perform a seance. Unfortunately, things go terribly wrong when the girls accidentally set the tower on fire, barely escaping with their lives and unleashing the vengeful spirit that murdered the guests at the Halloween Ball in 1816.
