Milestone 70

The only child of a poet father and a musician mother, I grew up a bookish youngster with few playmates. My abilities ran in the groove of reading, thinking and observing rather than participating. This work, with all its virtues and limitations, became my vocation. The milestone of seventy years focused that vocation as I paused to look at the tenor of my days in that seventy-first year.
