When Jack Swallow finishes university, he applies for a coveted job at the British Library. His world is thrown upside down when he arrives for his interview early to find that his live-in girlfriend has applied for the very same position without telling him.

Things quickly fall apart and it's not long before Jack finds himself in a living hell, dog-sitting and living north of the border in Scotland.
