I used to be the only one in the city that could do it--move things with my mind.

For years I kept it a secret.

Then one day, during a sandstorm, I met the others. One could channel tons of electric energy through his body. The other could lift or throw sand with his mind. Later, there was a fourth. She could make you move your arms or legs when you didn't want to. Or freeze you in your tracks, or throw off your punches.

The one with electric powers is our leader. He's bold and unafraid of the Peaceguards--robo soldiers that patrol the city streets. He says the signs are real. Sandstorms getting worse and worse... more random robo attacks... What they say is true. Something terrible is going to happen soon.

I wouldn't believe him, except he gets everything right. And even though it should be impossible, he's from outside the canyon--from the topworld.

So we train, and plan. We use our powers to pull off small jobs like taking out a Peaceguard here and there, or stealing food for the poor. That kind of thing. Every day we learn more about what we can do with our abilities.

And every day, more people die.

There are ancient legends that talk about people like us. We try to follow those stories. Try to learn, try to get stronger so we can save people.

But it's not enough. There are too many Peaceguards. The end is catching up to us.

Then we find something in the legends. Rumors of a weapon, or a key. A tool that would make us stronger, hidden in a distant region.

But we're running out of time. It could happen any day.

We know it's our last chance. Our only hope of saving everyone.

So we plan one last, impossible job.
