Rising Under the Sun

LILIANA AMADO, a young teenage girl, who is a victim of human trafficking, is held captive at a secret government testing facility off the coast of Florida, where she has been the victim of dozens of illegal human experiments. She has nothing in her possession but her torment and the everlasting hope that she will be reunited with her younger brother as she is tortured by the hands of her captives. When an opportunity to escape presents itself, she and a peculiar young boy she befriends while being captive, seize it.

During their escape, they reach a crossroads. They could risk the chance that they both die in their flee attempt or sacrifice the life of one so that the other can live. Even though Lily refused as she begged him not to, the boy chose to sacrifice himself in hopes that Lily could seek redemption for the both of them. For attempting to help him, he gives her a gift, a power that she could have never imagined. Lily manages to escape with her freedom and this new power as she vows to find her younger brother and the source of the biggest human trafficking crime syndicate in the Western Hemisphere so that she could burn it to the ground.
