The First Mrs. Worley

When Josephine Fern moves from New York to the rural region of West Tennessee, she believes that she has finally found happiness and peace, far from the cutthroat urban jungle of Manhattan and its cruel, self-absorbed denizens. With her loving husband Dean Worley, she seeks to rebuild her life after a nasty divorce from her rich first husband. Supported by her best friend Horace, she does everything she can to adjust to country life, be accepted by its ragtag populace - many of whom see her as an outsider - and be a good stepmother to Dean's son. But her efforts still leave her feeling unappreciated and soon enough she finds herself clashing with Dean's ex-wife, Sadie. As she fights to make her marriage work and adapt to her new environment, Josephine discovers the ugly menace that is the first Mrs. Worley.
