During a service of over twenty years in the active ministry, in widely varied localities and among widely different peoples, we have been confronted with nearly every problem that the pastor is likely to meet in his work. Again and again we have been perplexed, and did not know where to turn for help. We have tried to write such a book as would have helped us in our difficulties, and prevented some of the mistakes we made.
