Thirty-year-old Samantha Cagiano, a single mother of three children, has never fit in anywhere. She has always been the black sheep and been called everything from a Harbinger of Death to being labeled a witch because of a strangely shaped birthmark located on her right wrist.

Samantha now suffers from severe depression and PTSD and, after her latest attempt at suicide, her only friend in the world decides to relocate all four of them to a new town as a last ditch attempt to move them far away from the painful memories that haunt Samantha.

Setting out to find out who she really is, Samantha meets her mysterious, drop-dead gorgeous new neighbor, who has an uncanny ability to read her like an open book. Against her heart's better judgement, she is drawn to this mystifying man and realizes he is just as different as she is as she and her children are plunged into a world that has long been held as a myth. They are all in danger, but Samantha and her children must choose a side in an ancient war. Choosing the wrong side could cost them not only their lives, but the lives of everyone
