Studies in the Smalcald Articles

Professor John Meyer (1873-1964) devoted his later years to researching the Smalcald Articles, a key Lutheran confession. This volume is a compilation of Meyer's writings on the subject, originally published in The Northwestern Lutheran magazine (now Forward in Christ) during the 1960s. A last will and testament from this great Lutheran professor, the professional exposition takes a detailed look at the historical background of the confession and the theology of each article. It includes the text of the Smalcald Articles as found in the English translation of the Concordia Triglotta (1921). Scripture passages are in the ESV translation. A Scripture index is also included.
