This book follows the terrifying experience of having a stroke and the remarkable journey made towards recovery; living with the aftermath; and the battle to keep a positive frame of mind, as seen from the victim, his partner and some views from his friends.
It is based on an actual true experience of the author, who suffered this stroke in July 2014 and the events described in this book are all factual. However all the names and characters have been changed to protect identities. This journey starts before the stroke and how it came about, it takes you through the event it self, and then the long haul to overcome all the remenents of the stroke on ones boby, the fight to walk, talk and see again and the perseverance to regain a normal life. The first fourteen thousand words were written on an ipad in hospital with the font set to 28 Verdana as vision was extreemly difficult through prisms, as the author suffered from extreem double vision. These initial words were published in the North of England NHS Trust to aid other stroke victims as a self help booklet. It is a true story. It is filled with hope and love and desperation, challenges and gritted teath experiences.
