Wyvern

The Wyvern Home for Wayward Boys sits on a plush parcel of land in rural Idaho, amongst the tall pines and scrub brush. It seemingly lives in the small clearing amongst the memories of those who've called it home over the decades. The brick building seems to gasp for the crisp air, though that may merely be the swirling of the soft breezes that blow down from friendly Canada.
Clevis Pladstock remembers Wyvern, remembers all those years spent with the juvenile delinquents who come and go like so much cordwood when that air turns bitter and frigid. Heart beating with the memories of little lives turned toward honorable adulthood, the occasional successes that come so rarely. Weakened pulse also remembering the deep failure of lives unchanged, a path that Wyvern cannot alter. It is a callous world, and one either adjusts to the reality of Wyvern, or they slowly die within that failure. Clevis Pladstock understands the building, understands the price it extracts over the many years of toil.
