The Incunabulum part two: Maledictions

In this second part of The Incunabulum, Nathan discovers the truth about Phebe – the girl he encountered in a decaying mausoleum in the neglected old cemetery behind his home – and realizes (just as he suspected) that she's a vampire. In turn, Phebe discovers to Nathan how she came to be afflicted with the sinister condition of the vampire, and goes on to tell him about the incunabulum, a rare and ancient book between whose pages is an incantation which (according to legend) can undo her vampiric curse and restore her mortal nature. After revealing to Nathan that he must first willingly offer her his mortal blood in order for the spell to work, Nathan nevertheless agrees to help Phebe in her quest to seek and obtain this occult book. In the meantime, Nathan's neighbor, Mr Schiller – whose suspicions continue to grow with regard to the disappearance of the boy's aunt – begins to spy on Nathan. Eventually, upon following the boy into the cemetery one night, Mr Schiller discovers the very dark and dangerous secret which, up until then, Nathan had been so carefully maintaining, and learns firsthand what it means to trespass upon the lair of a vampire.
